revive is currently working with our partners in India to establish revive India to serve the community of New Delhi. . revive believes education is key in making great change in individuals, families, and communities. revive is committed to working closely with our partners in India to provide programs that offer tutoring, music and art programs, programs for adults such as literacy programs, parenting, nutritional, computer classes, life skill building classes. revive is also committed to sending a medical team to the New Delhi area on a yearly basis to provide free medical care to the community. We also recognize the great need of housing for destitute children. Three Revive leadership trips were taken to visit existing children’s homes in an effort to identify existing needs, funding requirements, and possible sites for home selection. India contacts are established. We now continue with our funding initiative for the children’s home, education, and medical care. Revive has provided over 100 children with needed coats, blankets, shoes and Christmas gifts. Please visit our Opportunities page to view upcoming mission trips.
Each child received a backpack filled with two wool sweaters, a wool cap, a pair of wool socks, a wrist watch, a lunch box, an insulated water bottle, a pencil pouch, a box of Crayons, a toy, a packet of Bornvita, a chocolate bar, and a packet of ready to eat noodles.
At each distribution the children and their families participated in the celebration with songs and a message of hope. “It is such a thrill to see the joy and excitement on the faces of the children.” Emmanuel Qureshi Thank you to all who supported and contributed to the Angel Tree. You have helped in making a difference, bringing joy and laughter to the lives of so many children who are living in slums. |
india medical trip revive Provides Medical Care in the Slums
Revive had the opportunity to send a medical team to Delhi, India to provide free medical clinics in two of Delhi’s poorest slum areas. Two one-day clinics were held in two different slums which served two hundred patients. The age of patients ranged from 10 months to 62 yrs old. Patient concerns ranged from nutritional deficiencies, musculoskeletal conditions, parasitic (like lice and intestinal worms), infectious disease (like TB, typhoid and malaria), gastrointestinal disorders, skin conditions, female issues, hypertension, upper respiratory, ear infections and vision concerns. Vitamins and medications were available free of charge as needed. No advertisement was done. Word travels fast! The community was so gracious and grateful for the service provided by our team. Many patients left the clinic to later return with their spouse, neighbors, family or friends. As always, the team went to serve but came away feeling they received a larger blessing than they could have given. They received many words and symbols of thanks, perhaps the most heartwarming was "thank you for loving our people". Revive looks forward to this being an annual opportunity.
