Monthly Food Distribution - The first Saturday of every month, revive partners with Dysart Community Center to provide volunteers who distribute food to those in need. This outreach is held at Dysart Community Center and requires about a 3 hour commitment. This is a wonderful opportunity for groups or individuals to serve others. If you or your group is interested in serving in this area please contact us to get your name or group scheduled!
This food distribution began in October 2013. On a monthly basis more than 7,000 pounds of food is distributed which provides for an average of more than 530 adults and children. Back to School Backpack Drive Every year revive provides 100’s of backpacks to local low-income children during our back to school backpack event. Attendees have the opportunity to participate in activities, crafts, receive a free haircut, clothing, and a new backpack filled with needed school supplies. The goal is to create a fun event and help equip kids for a successful school year. Volunteers and donations of supplies are critical to make this event successful. Quarterly ROC (revive our community) events give you a chance to be a part of helping to revive the community. Offering support to local residents and business owners or providing essentials items for the local community. Projects range from yard work for elderly, fresh exterior paint for local businesses, to local park improvements as well as food, clothing, and school supplies for children. ROC events are typically held on a Saturday or Sunday morning. The projects are set up to in advance. Each project has a team lead. Projects are set up with the idea that each volunteer will serve 1.5 - 3 hours, unless otherwise specified. After the teams are finished with their projects teams typically meet back at a central location where lunch is provided by revive as a thank you for your time and service. Mission Trips Do you love to experience other cultures while serving others too? If so, then an opportunity through revive might be just what you are looking for. International mission opportunities are scheduled several months in advance. Mission trips to the New Delhi region of India are organized through revive in cooperation with Revive India.
